Christmas Eve by the Christmas tree in the living room of the Wojtyła Family

3K7A3585

The tradition of bringing a tree to the family home of John Paul II has been going on for three years. During the lifetime of Pope John Paul II, Highlanders were taking a beautiful fir – tree to the papal apartments every year.

The Museum director, Fr. Jacek Pietruszka took the initiative to maintain this unique custom, and it was met with joy and enthusiasm of the authorities of the City of Zakopane. Thanks to this, we could also experience the Wojtyla’s family holidays, and the Museum has again become a real family home full of love and warmth.

The Directorate and Staff of the Museum of the Family Home of the Holy Father John Paul II met in the Museum’s courtyard for Christmas and New Year’s wishes. Then, singing, we went to Wojtyla’s living room to continue the tradition of caroling together by the Christmas tree donated by the Highlanders.
