Travel agents and tour operators from around the world come to the conference to learn how to offer their clients trips and pilgrimages to Krakow, the Malopolska region and Poland. The congress brought together more than 100 people from countries such as Italy, Spain, the United States, Canada, Lebanon, Israel, Denmark, Lithuania, Vietnam, England, Malaysia, Portugal, Greece, India, Argentina, Andorra, Mexico and Brazil. The honorary guests of the Congress were also Fátima, Lourdes and Medjugorje.
The Congress aims to be a place of contacts exchange between its participants, the promotion of Krakow and Malopolska Region as an important religious tourism and pilgrimage destination not only in Europe, but also worldwide.
The Congress was opened on the 8th November, by the both secular and clerical authorities of Krakow with the participation of the representatives of local sanctuaries, places of worship and tourist attractions form over 10 countries (including Greece, Israel, Lithuania, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina). The following days will be a chance for the guests from around the world to visit Krakow and the Malopolska Region (the Old Town in Krakow, John Paul II Center, the Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Kraków-Łagiewniki, the Salt Mine in Wieliczka, former German Nazi Concentration Camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, the parish and the Museum Family Home of the Holy Father John Paul II in Wadowice in Wadowice, the Basilic in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and of course the Black Madonna Sanctuary in Czestochowa).
