At the request of Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, metropolitan of Krakow, rev. Łukasz Piórkowski was appointed to the post of director of the Museum Family Home of the Holy Father John Paul II in Wadowice by the Board of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Rev. Piórkowski will manage the institution for 5 years and take office on February 1, 2020.

In accordance with the provisions of the contract and the statute, Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, Metropolitan of Krakow, as representative of the Archdiocese of Krakow, asked to appoint the Reverend Łukasz Piórkowski to the post of Director of the Museum. Professor Piotr Gliński, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Bartosz Kaliński, Mayor of Wadowice, agreed with the appointment of the metropolitan’s preferred candidate. Rev. Piórkowski will replace the deceased priest dr. Jacek Pietruszka at the helm of the Museum.
